Just ordered a set of those, seems to be what I’m after— even though they are made with wax doesn’t seem to affect the paint, from what I read. The Neo 1 also look good but I’m a sucker for the versatility of water-soluble.

WEBJun 25, 2015 · Liquitex, Golden, and Blick Artist acrylic (does anyone know who actually makes the Blick acrylic?). The Blick paint is good stuff, a great deal for the money. I’ll also use the liquitex basics on larger works where I need lots of paint, but its a little thin for me and some don’t mix so well. It is good for some things though.

I find the price to be student grade but the pigment load to be closer to artist grade. Obviously because of the pigments not all colours are fully opaque, but they are good value and fun to use.

As far as quality goes they’re about equal with other artists’ acrylics in terms of pigmentation, handling and viscosity straight from the tube. And for the price they’re really good. Einion.

I tried a sample of Golden Acrylic Gesso, and found it to be quite the opposite–hard, shiny, glossy, and it didn’t sand well. Too much like acrylic white paint, to suit me.
