Amazing to see so many bears close up, their stories are so sad. They do some great work here and worth supporting. We adopted a bear to help their work. Full review by Dave H

A great place to visit. They have rescued 130 bears, who were either in the circus or on display in cages. Tour is really well organized. Full review by Almostgreynomad

Reasonably fit. It’s only just over a mile in the hour but some slopes quite steep and the paths are not even but not treacherous either

Hi, We had a hired car and went to the sanctuary as part of a road trip. I don't think public transport will get you there. The sanctuary has a website so you may be able to contact them and see what they suggest. It's quite a way from Bucharest so not sure you will be able to do in a day. I believe the walking tours are only in the morning and its best to book. An option maybe to book a car/driver from Bucharest. We used a local hire car firm who I believe do this and they were cheaper than the international companies - Magrenta. They have an office near the airport and also one in the city. Hope this helps.
