Q:
When can I use my RHS membership for a guest
A:
Powis Castle is a National Trust property so I am not sure that RHS membership would give you entry.
Q:
Are dogs allowed in the gardens please
A:
In the deer park they are but only if they are on a lead, not certain in the gardens though. Probably on a lead but certainly not around the castle.

by car: M1 or M40 to M6, then to M54 and A5, then A458 to Welshpool. Allow at least 5 hours from London or 4 from the bottom of the M1. By train: Welshpool station is about 25 mins walk from the castle, when you leave the station go through the Tesco car park (opposite side of the roundabout) and into the town, go up the high street and there are gates on the left, from there it is a mile to the castle. Bear in mind opening times. In no way is this a day trip from London!

Disabled parking is at the bottom of the slope up to the castle. There is a shuttle bus with.wheelchair access but probably worth phoning on the day to check if it is running as drivers are volunteers. it is possible to drive up to drop people off at The courtyard. The castle has lots of steps. The garden is obviously steep and terraced but there is a step free route right round, indicated on the map you are given. The bus will take you up from the cafe at the bottom of the garden to the car park or courtyard.
