You can ride the different loops, I would say the shortest is about 40 minutes on a QH and then add other loops to make a day of it about 4 to 6 hours. I highly suggest going to the Island if your horse will go over a decent sized wood bridge with water surrounding it. I have been on many trails in the US. These trails are decently wide, very well kept. Not too many hills at all, no cliffs or gorges. Great for a peaceful day, or for beginning horses and or riders.
Q:
Do you need to take precautions for bears?
A:
I have never encountered one or even heard of anyone saying so.
