This castle is in the middle of the water in Castlebay. They used to do boat trips to it, when it was safe. Full review by Audrey F
hello and thank you for posting your feedback here! How recently did you visit the castle and are there still closures of some sections due to renovations? We will visit in June and are hoping our trip will not be compromised by this construction that several visitors mentioned in their reviews. I'd appreciate your comments - thanks in advance!

Hi, we were there on the 9th of April. There were areas out of bounds due to renovations one being the 'great hall' but still worth the visit Have a great trip Alan
Hello, Interested in visiting Isle of Barra and Kisimul Castle. Can you provide more details, such as best time of year to go, are there guided tours, best way to get there. Also, MacNeil family reunion every other year, do you know anything about that? Thanks very much. K. Adams Topeka, KS

Enough interest for about an hour's visit. On the return the skipper takes you round the castle so good photo opportunity. Castle has a small gift shop but as Scottish castles go it is one of the smallest. Good luck.
Sorry for delay, is it Kisimul Castle on Barra you are enquiring about?, if so, yes there is a small charge, I think about £4 per adult, it is very small but steeped in history and well worth …
