The park is very organized. We arrived before 1030am, as we left a park ranger was controlling and directing traffic. It really made the parking situation pleasant and manageable, especially on a bu… Full review by SouthernSoulSC

This is a very well-maintained Park with nice trails. There is a nice climb to see the falls, but very worthwhile. You can backtrack and go back the same way you came up, or take an easier path back. Full review by Carol K

The cops in this park are not friendly. They could be a real taker away of joy as we witnessed them nearly made a tourist from Ireland cry as there was something wrong with her car. Not nice cops. Full review by 0S0pheeya
Has anyone ridden the horse trails here? What are they like?

Most of the trails are multi-use trails and the sections that we've hiked that allow horses are quite nice. It is a pretty rugged area so make allowances for your horses physical condition as needed. The difficulty ratings of the trails are worth heeding and until you see the terrain for yourself I'd suggest that "less is more".
is there decent cell reception at south mountain? i'm thinking about going with my friends and my mom would get crazy worried if she didn't hear from me.
A:
The cell service is spotty so you may want to warn your mom that you may be inaccessible while you're there.
Does anyone have any reviews on the camp ground itself? The few things I read were good, especially on how clean the bathrooms/showers were. I'm going to sleep in hammock instead of tent. Not looking for anything specific, just general impressions/suggestions. The camp sites all look really close to the road, the farthest one was already booked so I took campsite 3.

I have personally stayed at the camp ground in a hammock before. There are lots of trees around the sites to hang the hammocks. Bathrooms are good and clean. I have not used them for showering though (only stayed one night ). One thing I will say is that they are big on not being in the foliage and messing up the foliage so no trimming trees or anything. Some of the camp sites are close together so if you are worried about being crowded I would get a site side by side if possible.

As with most campgrounds, some are more private than others, particularly the walk in sites in the campground. But with less than 20 sites in the campground it's not as bustling as most campgrounds are anyway. All the sites either back up to or are across the driveway from the Jacob Fork River which is more of a clear, fast flowing creek. The water chuckling over the rocks helps mute any man-made noise while being quite pleasant to fall asleep listening to....
