I had always heard about Renfest, been in TX my whole life and never went. I had been told if you like eating, drinking and seeing half naked women it is the place for you. That statement is pretty a… Full review by DJC824

Yes, this venue has many rest spots. I appreciate they put stone edging on many trees as well as lots of benches. Every few steps you enter a different themed area with food and tables to sit and eat. I recommend getting there at the opening as more people arrive in the late afternoon and areas to sit get harder to find.
Which is best - Texas Renaissance or Scarborough Renaissance? (we've not been to either). Thanks!

I think TRF is probly better than Scarborough mainly for the fact that it has 1st class shows and it seems like from the people I know that work at scarboro they say it's kind of gone downhill some of the shows art as 1st rate as they used to be. TRF is the biggest Renaissance festival in the nation and its where I would go if I hadn't been to any other fair! Scarborough is still a great fair but it isn't texas renaissance festival by no means!

You can spend as much as you want! I have gone and after the admission price spent $20 maybe. That was a drink and a bowl of shrimp gumbo. Then I have gone with two female friends and spent over $600 on drinks, food and clothes and jewelry; none of which I thought were overpriced.
Anyone know if there are some vegetarian options from any of the food vendors out here? I plan on going this year and just want to be prepared in case there isnt.

My wife is vegetarian. She had no trouble finding multiple items at several different outlets. While I am definitely carnivorous, I found a baked potato stuffed with grilled broccoli and banana squash that was great. Beyond that, don't forget that some adult beverages have grains and hops that qualify! Very nicely indeed on a warm Texas day.
