According to a notice first reported to NHTSA on Friday, the recall covers 272,817 Bronco and Maverick vehicles that contain 12-volt batteries manufactured by Chinese company Camel Battery.
To avoid an apparent risk of sudden failure, Ford is replacing the 12-volt batteries in the impacted vehicles.
