The Dallas Mavericks are expected to give coach Jason Kidd a contract extension before next season starts, according to Marc Stein. That should put to bed any lingering questions about his future with the Mavericks.

Frank Vogel will be getting a promotion to join Jason Kidd and the Mavericks’ staff as an assistant coach, according to a Wednesday report by ESPN’s Shams Charania. Interestingly, Kidd was the assistant coach for Frank Vogel and the Lakers from 2019 to 2021.

NBA insider Marc Stein revealed on one of his latest Substacks that the Mavericks are expected to extend Kidd's contract before the start of the 2025-26 season, but it may not come until later in the offseason.
