Xbox Cloud Gaming is coming to some LG TVs “later this year,” Microsoft and LG announced at CES 2025. When the feature is available, if you have an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, you’ll be able to stream games from the Xbox Game Pass library and select titles that you already own from the LG Gaming Portal.

Chances are that, like me, you've been unable to escape the chorus of 'This is an Xbox.' This insistent marketing campaign touts the cloud-based future Microsoft is striving for with Xbox, moving away from the console-based core of yore towards a platform that can play with almost any stage.

Having first launched on Samsung TVs back in 2022, Microsoft is bringing its Xbox Cloud Gaming service to yet more television sets in 2025. This time around, Xbox is partnering up with LG to start streaming games on another batch of Smart TV devices later this year.

Xbox Cloud Gaming, an online service that lets gamers play hundreds of console games on phones, tablets and other devices, has been down or reportedly inaccessible for a number of users across the world. Apparently, it has been more than 24 hours since the services were disrupted and till now there's no fix to help with the issue.

Some Xbox Cloud Gaming titles support touch controls on smartphones and tablets. However, a wireless Bluetooth controller is a better option for a smart TV when playing console-oriented games. Microsoft's first-party Xbox controller is an obvious solution with widespread compatibility. Pairing these peripherals to LG TVs is usually straightforward.

In addition to allowing players to stream Xbox Game Pass titles from a variety of devices, Microsoft has continued to offer many of its first-party titles on competing platforms. Xbox's most recent big console exclusive, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, will be coming to PlayStation 5 in the spring.

That's thanks to a new year team-up between Xbox and LG, bringing support for Xbox Cloud Gaming to LG Smart TVs later this year. As shared on Xbox Wire, these LG TVs will soon allow players to browse and play Xbox games through the Cloud via the upcoming Gaming Portal app.

It’s teaming up with LG’s television division to prove it, announcing a partnership that will bring Xbox games, via Microsoft’s cloud gaming platform, to select LG TVs. That’s in addition to some Samsung TVs that already support the service, plus Apple, Amazon Fire and Android devices that can tap into cloud gaming via their respective Xbox apps.

You’ll be able to stream from Game Pass Ultimate’s library (and some of your own games) when the Xbox app launches on the latest LG TVs later this year.

Xbox has partnered with LG Electronics to bring the Xbox App to LG Smart TVs. From February 18, some LG Smart TVs will offer the Xbox App, enabling Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members to stream selected games from their collections via the cloud.
