MLK Day events, walks, community service planned across Southeast Michigan
Wayne State University’s AmeriCorps Urban Safety Program, along with State Rep. Tyrone Carter and Marathon Petroleum will hold an Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service at 10 a.m. Monday at Kemeny Recreation Center, 2260 S Fort Street in Detroit. Michigan is home to five national parks plus a 1,150 mile-stretch of the North Country National Scenic Trail. However, Isle Royale National Park is closed for the winter and will reopen in April. Daily admission, typically $25, is waived on Monday for these four parks:
