A tropical system and the heavy rains accompanying it could lead to flash flooding across Florida and other parts of the coastal Southeast this weekend. A Tropical or subtropical storm could develop near the southeastern United States late today or over the weekend if the low remains offshore, NHC said. Heavy rainfall is possible through portions of west-central and southwestern Florida through early Saturday.
