The sight gags in Nick Park ’s Wallace and Gromit films are all part of their charm, from Gromit’s vinyl collection (mostly Bach) to his highbrow reading matter (Crime and Punishment by Fido Dogstoyevsky, The Republic by Pluto…) to his alma mater (where else would a clever canine graduate from but Dogwarts University?).

Nick Park’s beloved pair faces off against the dastardly penguin Feathers McGraw in this stop-motion feature.

The new outing comes 16 years after the duo’s last story in A Matter of Loaf and Death, and follows the pair as Wallace’s latest creation, a ‘smart gnome’, gets hacked by villainous penguin Feathers McGraw and wreaks havoc on the community.

Vengeance Most Fowl also doesn’t clutter up the storyline with too many extra characters – just the return of Peter Kay’s pleasingly pompous and rather inefficient police officer from The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, now a chief inspector, and his bright and plucky protegee, PC Mukherjee (Lauren Patel).

Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl has now landed on Netflix in the US, as well as globally outside of the UK on the streaming service. If you missed it at Christmas, the movie is available to watch on BBC iPlayer in the UK following its festive premiere. You won't find it on Netflix if you're in the UK.

The new Wallace & Gromit movie is good for some laughter and entertainment, but there's a subtle, important parody also at work in the film.
