The first episode of World Wrestling Entertainment’s “Monday Night RAW” on Netflix averaged 4.9 million viewers globally and 2.6 million households in the U.S.

With the move of Monday Night Raw to Netflix, WWE executives believed it would be able to expand its viewership globally. One show in and the results indicate a big day for the show's debut on the streaming service.

WWE “Raw” left traditional cable on Monday, Jan. 6, debuting live on Netflix and now they’re reporting huge streaming numbers — outdoing most shows and sitting number 1 on Netflix. In a press release,

WWE Raw showed some muscle in its Netflix debut on Monday night. The WWE franchise’s first Netflix outing generated 4.9 million “Live+1” (watched within 24 hours) views globally, WWE reports. (Netflix defines “views” as total view hours for the program divided by the runtime.

Hulk Hogan, who helped pro wrestling reach new heights of popularity, was booed out of the building on "Monday Night Raw."

A day after it was reported that WWE Monday Night RAW's Netflix premiere topped Squid Game Season 2, the official viewership numbers are in. The streaming service is reporting that WWE RAW's Netflix debut garnered 4.

Raw's first episode on Netflix is the platform's most streamed show in the US right now, knocking Squid Game off the top spot.
