Large black plumes of smoke could be seen emanating from the harp-shaped bridge this morning.Dublin’s iconic Samuel Beckett Bridge

Dublin Fire Brigade is currently on the scene as of 8.30am. There are also delays on the M50 following a collision this morning. The incident took place around 8am between J07 - Lucan and J09 - Red Cow (Southbound). The incident has been cleared but traffic on the hard shoulder is moving slowly.

Dublin Fire Brigade responded to the fire and used high pressure hose reels alongside breathing apparatus to fight the fire and extinguish it.

The Samuel Beckett Bridge in Dublin city centre was closed for a time this morning after a truck caught fire while on it.
