Ascend Laboratories of New Jersey recalled certain bottles of atorvastatin calcium tablets, a generic version of Lipitor, sold nationwide. The drug works to lower cholesterol by blocking an enzyme that helps make cholesterol in the body. The recall affected bottles of 10 milligram (mg), 40 mg, 20 mg, and 80 mg tablets with various pill counts.
The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has announced a recall of a select lot of Moonlight Companies peaches because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The recall impacts certain California-grown yellow and white peaches sold at retail stores, including Sam’s Club, Walmart, Kroger, and Trader Joe’s nationwide.
Numerous recalls have been initiated this year because of the potential for damaged products, foodborne illness and contamination.
