The Republican Party has secured a majority of the seats in the United States House of Representatives, having already secured the White House and the U S Senate

The Republican Party will keep control of the House of Representatives, giving Donald Trump a governing majority in both houses of Congress.

Republicans have won enough seats to control the U.S. House, completing the party’s sweep into power and securing their hold on U.S. government alongside President-elect Donald Trump

Now Republicans have officially taken control of Congress, his "promises" got a whole lot easier to keep. In Washington political parlance, it's called "a governing trifecta", when the president's party also controls both chambers of Congress - the House of Representatives and the Senate.

Republicans held on to their narrow majority in the US House, giving Donald Trump and his party unified control of the elected branches of government and limiting potential curbs on the incoming president’s power.

With the GOP retaining control of the House, Trump will enjoy a trifecta for at least the first two years of his term.

President-elect Trump now has a clear path to enact his agenda and fill out his administration with both the House and Senate in Republican hands come January.
