The State Department has released the 23 countries that American tourists should reconsider traveling to before visiting.
Questions have surfaced around the safety of traveling to the Dominican Republic​ and other Caribbean tourist destinations, including Turks and Caicos Islands​.
However, the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office has produced a list, which you can see visualized in this map, that outlines the countries that are currently deemed unsafe to travel to.
As of March 11, 2025, the U.S. Department of State has issued "Level 4: Do Not Travel" advisories for several countries.
The most dangerous is Namibia at 45 per 100,000. The US ranks slightly below the average at 14/100k. While America's figure is admittedly tiny, it is much higher than other, comparable countries.
