Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg unveiled today the next wave of innovations at its annual technology showcase. From the next generation of Meta Ray Ban and Oakley glasses to neural interfaces and immersive content tools, Zuckerberg’s latest announcements shed light onto the future of AI and the hardware that will plug into the metaverse and beyond.

Within days of joining Meta, Shengjia Zhao, co-creator of OpenAI’s ChatGPT, had threatened to quit and return to his former employer, in a blow to Mark Zuckerberg’s multibillion-dollar push to build “personal superintelligence.”

What makes Meta’s super PAC unique is that it’s under the jurisdiction of one company, which is under the jurisdiction of one man (Zuckerberg). Other, similar PACs represent a coalition of AI companies and advocates.

In a new post, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that the company’s AI is on the slow road to superintelligence, a technological threshold beyond artificial general intelligence (AGI) when AI can begin improving itself.
