The new facility augments Ferrero’s existing Bloomington production operations, where the candy company opened a $75 million, 70,000-square-foot facility in May. The facility is the Ferrero's first in the country that processes chocolate and makes Crunch, 100 Grand and Raisinets.

Candy maker Ferrero may not be done growing in Bloomington-Normal even though the company's new $214 million chocolate plant is now officially open.

The Parsippany-based company already has a growing presence in the midwestern state, where it manufactures Butterfinger and Baby Ruth candy bars, as well as Keebler products.

The event also included representatives from Walmart, part of the retailer’s commitment to the future of U.S. manufacturing.

Ferrero North America, part of the global sweet-packaged food company the Ferrero Group, today celebrated the opening of its new Kinder Bueno production facility in Bloomington, Illinois. The $214 million dollar investment creates approximately 200 new jobs and will help drive Ferrero's continued market expansion.

Since its introduction in late 2019, Kinder Bueno has reached No. 17 in sales among mainstream chocolate brands, hitting more than $214 million in retail sales in the past year.
