Smoke from fireworks displays has been trapped in Michigan’s stagnant air flow, and conditions are ripe for ozone creation in other areas. Both these circumstances have sparked some Air Quality alerts and advisories for July 4.

An air quality alert has been issued for most of Southeast Michigan on Independence Day. The alert is in effect for most areas along and south of I-69 throughout the day on July 4. The media could not be loaded, either because the server or network failed or because the format is not supported.
