Hurricane Milton, which hit Florida in October 2024, caused about $25 billion in insured losses, the largest amount of insured losses from any natural disaster in 2024, according to an analysis by Munich RE, an international insurance and reinsurance company.

The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation data shows that Milton's estimated insured losses are much at $3.6 billion.

FEMA has approved over $1.2 billion in aid, which breaks down to $53 million for Debby, $559 million for Milton and over $630 million for Helene. Survivors of Helene and Milton have until Tuesday to apply for aid. To apply for assistance, click here.
