A wealthy businesswoman attempted to defraud an insurance company after her boyfriend orchestrated the burglary of her home, a court heard.

( NewsNation) — The husband of “The View” co-host Sunny Hostin faces allegations of insurance fraud and accepting kickbacks after he was named in a federal lawsuit that was filed last month, according to multiple media reports.

Hostin and his practice, Hostin Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, were named in a major RICO case among nearly 200 other defendants.

Dr. Emmanuel “Manny” Hostin, orthopedic surgeon and husband of The View co-host Sunny Hostin, has been accused of insurance fraud. The federal lawsuit, filed in New York, names Hostin and his practice among over 180 defendants.

Sunny and Emmanuel married in 1998 and share two children, Gabe (22) and Paloma (18). Sunny, an attorney and long-time co-host on The View, frequently speaks about her husband on the ABC morning show, including last month when discussing the assassination of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
