NFL players’ union executive director Lloyd Howell Jr. resigned in a statement late Thursday night after heavy scrutiny of the NFLPA’s recent activity revealed Howell to be unfit for
"The NFLPA has been led by people who would much rather be known that they’re the heads of the NFLPA than actually work and act like they are the heads of the NFLPA."
Via Mark Maske of the Washington Post, the NFLPA board of player representatives will meet on Friday night to discuss the union’s next steps following Thursday night’s sudden and surprising resignation of executive director Lloyd Howell.
While the grievance decision had not been reported publicly before Thursday, the league says it informed teams at its March league meeting.
