A man has denied vandalising memorials to two murdered police officers in Leeds. Black paint was sprayed on the stone memorials to PC Ian Broadhurst, who was shot and killed on Dib Lane in 2003 and to Sgt John Speed, who died in a shooting in the city centre in 1984.

Detectives have launched an attempted murder investigation after a man suffered serious head injuries in an attack in Leeds. According to West Yorkshire Police, two men unloading shopping from a car in Tempest Road, Beeston, were attacked by a lone suspect just after 20:30 GMT on Tuesday.

Police have released images of a man they are trying to identify after a child was kissed by an adult. Officers said a man had followed a boy and kissed him in the Fartown area of Huddersfield on 23 September last year.
