Yoon Suk Yeol’s bodyguards thwarted investigators in another tense showdown resulting from his short-lived martial law decree.

Investigators on Friday halted their efforts to detain impeached South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol, following an impasse that lasted more than five hours as Yoon’s presidential security service barred them from entering his residence to execute their warrant.

South Korean authorities moved Friday to execute an unprecedented arrest warrant for President Yoon Suk Yeol over his botched attempt to declare martial law last month.
