The Detroit Red Wings announced that goaltender Alex Lyon will be out day-to-day with an upper-body injury. Lyon was noticeably absent when the second period began against the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday night and did not return to the game.

DETROIT – Todd McLellan has been back in Detroit for two weeks, but he’s thinking about Southern California these days. Wildfires have ravaged the Los Angeles-area destroying thousands of homes and forcing tens of thousands to evacuate. McLellan coached the Los Angeles Kings from 2019-20 until midway through last season.
