More than 30 years after being told that the city would never hire a female patrol officer, Tanya Czack -- a lifelong resident -- was just appointed as Parma Heights' new police chief.

Tanya Czack, a 34-year veteran of the Parma Heights Police Department, is the first female chief of police in the city's history.
