Harry Kenneth Floyd Sr., owner of a bowling alley that became the focus of racial upheaval during one of the darkest weeks in Orangeburg's history, died Friday. He was 76.

At the time there was some legal uncertainty and confusion as to whether a bowling alley was covered under the public accommodations provisions of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
