Data collected by Tesla on the driver and vehicle in the Las Vegas Cybertruck explosion has shined a spotlight on a difficult ethical question for the auto industry: Are companies violating your privacy rights?

A Tesla Cybertruck pulled up to the glass entrance doors of Trump International Hotel Las Vegas on New Year's Day, began emitting smoke and then exploded, according to authorities.

The police also said that the explosion could have been worse if not for the Tesla Cybertruck's design. According to Kevin McMahill, sheriff of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the stainless-steel-bodied Cybertruck contained much of the explosion, with much of the impact directed upward.
