The chairman of the Met’s Black Police Association swapped racist comments and sick jokes with a colleague in a WhatsApp group, a misconduct hearing has been told.

Inspector Charles Ehikioya is accused of being in a chat with former Pc Carlo Francisco, who in 2023 was separately found guilty of gross misconduct over messages shared in a group with seven others, including some which made fun of Katie Price’s disabled son Harvey.

WhatsApp lets you pin important messages within chats, making it especially useful in group conversations where key information can easily get lost among numerous daily messages. Initially, users were allowed to pin a single message,

Insp Charles Ehikioya is accused of being in a chat with former officer Carlo Francisco where messages including jokes about sex with a girl with Down's syndrome and mockery of the late Prince Philip's car crash were sent. The chat also allegedly included "clearly racist" messages.
