Two Los Angeles County wildfires which tore through more than 34,000 acres in four days, killing at least 10 people and destroying more than 10,000 structures, are now among the 20 most destructive fires recorded in the state of California.

The Hollywood Hills blazed uncontrollably on Thursday morning as the worst wildfires in the history of Los Angeles raged across the city and deep into the storied heartland of the American film industry.

At least 10 people have been killed and dozens more injured, with many of the remaining fires not contained at all by the emergency services.

Millions of people are without power in Southern California as wildfires continue to rage in the Los Angeles area.
