As Colorado drops into a deep freeze, Denver Rescue Mission is among the shelters that will be increasing capacity to protect residents. The kind of subfreezing temperatures that are moving in will be dangerous to anyone living outside.

It will be 1 degree in Denver at 10 a.m. Monday, when the Marade is now scheduled to start, but it will feel closer to 12 degrees below zero with wind chill, National Weather Service forecasters

We'll see one more mild day across Colorado before a strong cold front races through Friday night. Temperatures will climb into upper 40s by the afternoon, with light snow developing by evening commute.
