The proposed new Frayser High School, which could have its additional funding put on a 90-day moratorium, will be built, according to the leader of Memphis-Shelby County Schools.

Board member Amber Huett-Garcia introduced the resolution for the Jan. 14, MSCS work session. The resolution reads that Huett-Garcia supports her colleagues in examining the performance of Feagins, but that she "stand firmly" in support of more time for her to lead the district.

The saga with the Memphis-Shelby County Schools board and Superintendent Dr. Marie Feagins continues, as another board member introduced a resolution to retain the superintendent.

The response did not contain any direct responses to the allegations against Feagins, but generally called all of them "meritless."

Marie Feagins was hired by the Memphis-Shelby County Schools Board in April but now faces possible firing from board members in early 2025.
