Newark Mayor Ras Baraka is scheduled to appear in court Thursday after being arrested last week outside an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention facility.Friday's heated confrontation at Delaney Hall was captured on body cam video.

American Civil Liberties Union of New Jersey Executive Director Amol Sinha, in a statement sent to Newsweek via email on Friday: "The arrest of Mayor Ras Baraka by the Department of Homeland Security is a shameful escalation of the Trump administration's intimidation campaign against officials who refuse to do their bidding."

Mayor Ras Baraka, who faces trespassing charges, was again denied entry to Delaney Hall by armed ICE officers.
