Sep 21, 2011 · I am needing to purchase a wood burning stove for my new house. I went to small specialty store and got a quote of about $1450 for the stove I liked. Tractor Supply has one that I like for $699. The brand is United States Stove. I forget the brand of the one at the specialty store. What are your thoughts on purchasing a wood burning stove from TSC?

With good wood (seasoned oak/hickory/maple), I have ample coals to quickly get a good fire going after eight hours. With less than optimal wood (poplar/gum), I can go six hours between loads. The larger stove in the link below is supposed to go 12 hours between loads.
