Jul 20, 2023 · I wouldnt worry to much if the market pulls back in the next couple weeks or months. Meta doesnt make its money from AI, so the bigger question would be how the ad market looks. Ad spending will probably rebound as the fear of recession and higher rate hikes subside. Which makes me think Meta will be in a better place later this year and next year.

Nvidia Tesla P40 performs amazingly well for llama.cpp GGUF!
Nov 20, 2023 · The Tesla P40 is much faster at GGUF than the P100 at GGUF. At a rate of 25-30t/s vs 15-20t/s running Q8 GGUF models. Possibly because it supports int8 and that is somehow used on it using its higher CUDA 6.1. I’ve found that combining a P40 and P100 would result in a reduction in performance to in between what a P40 and P100 does by itself.

People selling Tesla now is likely selling low. You don’t make money buying high and selling low. I bought meta in 2022 when it crashed as VR was “dead” and every article was talking like Zuck and meta was one foot in the grave. Today, I’m up 200%. Maybe I’m missing something but where is the news that Tesla is losing money?

Tesla is at 244, Microsoft is 313 and Nvidia is at 419. My bet is still on Tesla increasing into the most from here considering they are well below their all time high. FSD in 3 years should be nearly driverless, compact car in mass production, and multiple grid scale battery plants will be trying to meet endless demand.

The 10% dps nerf (hit speed 1.0 => 1.1) would have been enough to kill most cards, but the 5 second lifetime reduction was the nail in the coffin.
