Feb 9, 2012 · There's a big "pallet recycling" place near me. Box trucks full of them. They repair and grade them and resell. SO.. many are spoken for. I bought some from them.. and they were pricey and with their grading, I was getting ugly, weak pallets. I found a mom and pop business that does the same thing, on a much smaller scale.

Feb 18, 2012 · I checked and there are two Harbor Freight locations near you. They typically have a lot of pallets, sometimes they are low from other pickers like me but normally they have more than you can handle. They are not typically hardwood pallets but I find they last several years. As others have said, I find them on Craigslist all the time.

Nov 21, 2011 · "Standard" pallets are 40 x 48 but there are other sizes too depending on what you want... 42x42 is used for paint, 48x48 holds four 55 gallon drums, 40 x 40 milk crates and 36 x 36 beer and other case beverages. Anything put on pallets for the military has to be 35 x 45 to fit in doors and almost every from Asia would be on 43 x 43.

We have a 40 yard dumpster for pallets only that gets filled up and hauled off about once a week. Some of them are complete junk, and others way too big....but there is a huge supply to pick from. 95% is softwood, but softwood still burns.

Feb 10, 2011 · ANSWER:: for a pallet: weigh the wood, assuming 6928 BTUs per pound @ 20% moisture ( pallets are normally dryer but it varies so you could use 10 - 15% for better accuracy but then the 6928 BTUs per pound changes) Of course you have to then figure out the average weight of the nails & staples in a pallet to get a more accurate BTU.

Dec 5, 2015 · Google searches: Heat Treatment [HT] The wood has to heated for at least 30 minutes to a minimum core temperature of at least 132.8 °F /56° C. A Pallet treated this way will be stamped with [HT], and it should appear near the stamp of the IPPC logo.

Dec 29, 2008 · A "pellet - pallet fee" sounds strange since I get pallets free from Lowes here. I ask & just go to the back side & they help me load up any pallets the have. HD is same. Go get some free ones & take the pallets you got with the pellets back for some $$.

Sep 30, 2011 · There are lots of reviews on Greene Team Pellets. I think the overall concensus is that they are a decent pellet. Not the best but not the worst. I haven't burned any yet as this is my first season with my stove but I just bought 2 tons from Lowes for $177/ton with a 10% off coupon (Regular price $197/ton).

ID wood spp. Ash is usually easy and a pleasure to hand-split; however, I've had a couple instances of small (16" diam.) from open an grown tree that was very tough. Fetch the straight, clear chunks, or cut out straight portions to firewood length.
