Day 86 Appalachian Trail Thru Hike - Waynesboro, VA - Zero Day: Today we would make one of the hardest decisions we’ve had to make out here. We were moving at quite a slow place and after some calculation it didn’t seem we had a chance to make it to the end before it closes. So with regret we decided we needed to turn this hike into a Flip Flop. We decided we would attempt to hitch hike all the way to Maine in an attempt to save us on our budget.
